Does my child need any prior coding experience to start this course?

The HTML & CSS course covers front-end design foundations. This Web Development course goes significantly further adding JavaScript interactivity, Bootstrap, version control with Git and GitHub, REST APIs, back-end concepts, and full project deployment. Students who have completed HTML & CSS will find this course the ideal next step.

Will my child’s websites actually go live on the internet?

Yes. Module 9 covers website hosting, domain basics, and deployment, and students deploy their Capstone project to a real hosting platform during the course. By the end, students will have a live URL they can share with anyone.

What is GitHub and why does it matter?

GitHub is the platform used by virtually every professional developer in the world to store, share, and collaborate on code. Building a GitHub portfolio during this course gives students a real, verifiable record of their projects something colleges, competitions, and employers can visit and review. Module 6 covers Git and GitHub from scratch.

How long does the 100-class course take to complete?

At 2 classes per week, the course takes approximately 12 months. At 4 classes per week, it takes around 6 months. The schedule is fully flexible around school timetables.
